First Edition, First (And Only) Printing, 12 Full Color Plates, The Caption On The Color Plate Facing Page 255 Has The Misprint "Scarecorw's" For "Scarecrow's", As Is Required For The "First State". A Very Attractive, Near Fine Copy Of The First Issue. The Color Illustration Mounted On The Front Board Is Complete, Unworn, Brightly Colored And Clear. The Spine Is Bumped Top And Bottom; The Tips Are Also Bumped; But The Cover Shows Only Traces Of Wear. The Endpapers Are Illustrated Black And White; Verso The Front Free Endpaper Has Been Written "Taken/Returned" In Ink. Pon The Ownership Page "This Book Belongs To...". The Title Page Has Three Ink Marks; One Above And One Below The Letter "H" And One To The Right Of The Letter "E" In John R. Neill. Page 14 Has A Water Stain Approx. 1Inch By 1 Inch (Irregular I Size) At The Bottom, Left Hand Edge. There Is Also A Small Horizontal Tear Near The Top Fore Edge (About 1/4 Inch). There Are 3 Small Water Stains On Page 15, Not Affecting Text. Page 262 Has A Vertical Tear From Bottom Edge Near Spine (1/2 Inch). The Top And Bottom Page Edges Are Stained With A Few Small Black Dots. There Is One Water Stain Top Page Edges (1 And 1/2 Inches X 1/2 Inch..Irregular In Size), Showing Light Gray Against The Yellow Color Of The Page Tops. . Binding Tight.
