The poem is an epic fairy tale about the abduction of the daughter, Ludmilla, of the prince of Kiev by an evil wizard and the attempt of Rusland, the knight to rescue her. Eighteen gilt-bordered color lithographs with text, facing pages of text within gilt borders. Sergei Maliutin was a Russian painter and stage designer who helped revive the Russian folk art tradition. . Linen Over Boards. Near Fine. Illus. by Sergei Vasilevich Maliutin. Large Folio.
