Au Mans: Ed. Monnover, 1875. First edition. Hardcover. Very good. 4 volumes. 8vo. 530;lx,571,(1)309,(1);311-831,(1)pp. Three volumes in 4. Contemporary brown cloth, gilt spine titles. Decorative as well as typeset title pages in each of the three volumes ( the last contains no title as it is a continuation of volume 3). Large folding facsimile of the manuscript in Volume 2 as a frontispiece; facsimile of the end of the manuscript at the end of Vol. 3, part 1. Important transcription and commentary of the Le Mans Grail romance sometimes attributed to Gautier Map (Walter Map), a Welsh monk who lived from 1140-c.1210. Ribbon bookmarks. Bookplate of David Douglas and neat signature E. H. Loyd dated 1907 on the front pastedowns of each volume. Cloth lightly darkened and soiled, occasional light foxing but a very good set.
