American archaeologist Marshall H. Saville was the first curator of the Mexican and Central American Archaeology at the American Museum of Natural History, and was also at the Peabody Museum at Yale around the turn of the 19th century. He excavated throughout South and Central America, at sites such as Xoxocotlon in the Mexican state of Oaxaca, Manabi and Sigsig in Ecuador, and the San Lorenzo Olmec site; and made substantive contributions in Aztec, Maya and Olmec cultures.

Edge wear, frontispiece detached esle a very good copy.
