Good. - A 1-1/2 inch high by 4-1/8 inch wide fragment of paper cut from the close of a letter bearing the signature of the American scientist, physicist and surveyor. Signed "Alex. Dallas Bache". Fragments of paper adhere to a red wax seal at right. The paper has been roughly clipped. Good.

The great grandson of Benjamin Franklin, the American physicist, scientist and surveyor Alexander Dallas Bache (1806-1867) erected coastal fortifications along the American coastline and conducted a detailed survey to map the coastline of the mid-eastern U.S.
