Publisher Gaige asked Ford to finish this novella, left unfinished by Conrad at the time of his death; Ford instead contributed a lengthy introduction discussing Conrad's career & style. First edition, nicely designed & printed by Bruce Rogers at the press of Willam Edwin Rudge; one of 926 copies on handmade paper. Hardcover, marbled red covers, black spine label, gilt titling. Shows general wear, lower front corner badly bumped with crease, other corners lightly bumped & rubbed; no jacket. Text clean; [4], 70 pages + colophon.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. Octavo.
