He worked for many years at the Cleveland Institute of Art where he was Chair of the Department of Teacher Training, instructor of Lettering, Layout, and Typography and Dean. He was also employed by the School of Library Science at Case Western Reserve University as a lecturer on the History of the Book, and instructor of History and Art of the Book. Tall, thin octavo; 19pp. Includes two-page illustration of "Genealogy of Our Letters From the Phoenician alphabet 1300 B.C.".Brown cloth spine over dark grey paper covered boards. Hand lettering to front cover (which also has an address label for Mr. Kurtzworth) and spine, else a near fine copy. Following a brief introduction, Ege describes the origins of the modern English/Western/Latin alphabet characters.
