New York: Hampton, 1910. Hardcover. Very Good. Kirk, M. L. . Top front corner bumped, others nudged. Spine caps creased. A bit of a spine-lean. Lovely old-book scent. Gilt lettering a bit worn to spine of brown, cloth-covered boards. Color paste-on illustration by M. L. Kirk to front board. Color illustration on frontispiece and throughout text. Clean, tight, bright. 313 pp. This writing "follows closely the narrative of the poem, and in many places Longfellow's own words have been introduced into its pages, for the purpose of this volume is to awaken interest and pleasure in the poem itself," (preface).
