Seaside Library titles up to #940 listed inside, 1887 patent date in tiny letters on cover, Feb. 1, 1886 publication date. 81, (30, ads) pp. Illustrated wraps over stapled contents. A Fair copy, as is typical, but with intact wraps. Prelims (first three leaves) detached and edge-chipped, laid in. Former owner's name written on front cover and in margins of first and final pages of text. Wraps and a few pages edge-chipped, contents toned, brittle, and a little finger-smudged. An early American printing of the classic novella of duality in Munro's Seaside Library series of cheap paperbacks-- as perfect beachside reading upon its publication as it is now.
