Alvin Lustig. 1947 New Directions True First/First with a **SIGNED** card " (laid in) AND an unsigned 8 x10 publicity photo. These essential add-ons arel accompanied by a Certificate Of Authenticity. This rare copy is in VG+/VG condition. The HB has the name error on page 161 (Stella instead of Blanche). The HB is in beautiful condition with very minor wear at the edges, corners and no fading along the spine. The text and end papers have very minor yellowing. The DJ has the price $ 2.75. It has a small missing piece along the top spine end otherwise minor wear. Adapted into the classic 1951 film directed by Elia Kazan and starring Oscar WInners Vivien Leigh as Blanche, Kim Hunter as Stella, Karl Malden as Mitch, with Oscar Nominee Marlon Brando as Stanley. Synopsis

A Streetcar Named Desire is a play written by Tennessee Williams that opened on Broadway on December 3, 1947.The story dramatises the life of Blanche DuBois, a Southern belle, after going through a series of personal losses, leaves her aristocratic background seeking refuge with her sister and brother-in-law in a New Orleans apartment building. Considered to be Williams’ most popular work, it is one of the best and most critically successful plays of the 20th century. The play has inspired many adaptations in other forms, notably producing an acclaimed film that was released in 1951.
