About This Item

Tarzana, CA: Burroughs, 1947. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Near Fine/Very Good. John Coleman Burroughs. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. 8vo., 314pp. Sharp First Edition, (stated), with pebbled blue cloth with orange lettering on cover and spine. Publisher's red top stain. Zeuschner, pg.154, #578. Some light shelf wear to book itself, particularly to the spine ends. A touch of off-setting to paste-downs but quite minor. Unclipped jacket is a solid Very Good with some lite chipping and soiling. Some foxing on the verso with a couple of spots showing through the front. Still, a bright, fresh example. A very nice collectible copy.

Synopsis

Tarzan and the Foreign Legion is a novel written by Edgar Rice Burroughs, the twenty-second in his series of books about the title character Tarzan. The book, written June-September 1944 while Burroughs was living in Honolulu and published in 1947, was the last new work by Burroughs to be published during his life (Llana of Gathol, the tenth book in the Barsoom series, was published in 1948, but it was a collection of four stories that were originally published in Amazing Stories in 1941).
