New York: Horizon Press, 1956-8. Three publisher's prospectuses, all for works by or pertaining to the American political philosopher Corliss Lamont. Two bi-fold pamphlets, one post-card. Includes: Freedom is as Freedom Does (Horizon Press, 1956); The Lamont Case: History of a Congressional Investigation (Horizon Press, 1957); The Right to Travel (Basic Pamphlets, 1958). Very Good to Fine. Lamont (1902-1995), a prominent left-wing intellectual and long-time director of the ACLU, was cited for contempt of Congress in 1954 for his refusal to give full testimony before HUAC. Though originally acquitted, he was denied a passport in 1958 (forming the subject of his 1958 pamphlet The Right to Travel).
