Solid First Edition, bound in original maroon cloth with titles in gilt on front board and spine. Square, tight and clean throughout with no foxing. Light off-setting between pages 30-31 where it looks like a news article was laid in. Tiny tear in the bottom inner edge of the title page. Front board has some surface wear; more so on the rear board. Edges, hinges and tips rubbed. Wear to spine ends. Looks a lot better than it sounds. Ownership signature on front paste-down and fly-leaf. Also signature of Roland D. Sawyer, on the front end-paper, who was a noted Massachusetts State Legislator who was a member of the Socialist Party of America and ran for Governor of Massachusetts on the Socialist ticket in 1912. He was also was "... active in the unsuccessful campaign to win a stay of execution and a new trial for Sacco and Vanzetti, two anarchists accused of murder in conjunction with a 1920 armed robbery".
