About This Item
London: Williams and Norgate, 1923. Book. Fair. Hardcover. First Edition. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 344 pages. Index. "An account of the transactions by which Germany during the Great War was able to obtain supplies prior to her collapse under the pressure of economic forces." - subtitle. Usual library markings. Somewhat above-average wear. Back hinge partially open. Gift greetings upon verso of frontispiece. Prior owner has affixed a pocket inside back board which contains a printed 2007 internet article which alleges that this book documents how 'the banksters' propped up Germany with supplies, thus extending WWI by three years. The article alleges that famous British WWI martyr Edith Cavell discovered this and was thus killed by a German firing squad, rather than being imprisoned for three months as was normal. A worthy copy of this intriguing work..
