Prague: 1924-1932. Large octavo (26.2 × 17.5 cm). Publisher's typographically illustrated self-wrappers; [16] pp. including wrappers. Very good; stamp of the famous architect Václav Roštlapil; very faint vertical crease. Single early issue of this astonishingly rich -- in text, image, and typographic design -- satirical journal of the Czech avant-garde period, which features uncredited typographic layout by Karel Teige, numerous caricatures, and poems and prose. Among the contributors of this issue are Jiri Šašek, M. Veselý, Béna, František Bidlo, Rabelais, Zdenek Pribyl, K. Bava and others. This copy from the library of the noted Brno architect Václav Roštlapil (1901-1979). Copies in the original fragile wrappers are extremely scarce.
