A scarce May 25, 1970, special edition of the Cuban newspaper Granma, the official organ of the Cuban Communist Party, 48 pp., chronicling the history of American aggression towards Cuba following the Cuban Revolution and the start of Communist rule in 1959, including coverage of the perceived and actual transgressions of the CIA and American military, machinations of the United States government, seizure of planes and boats, groups organized and armed by the CIA, and economic sanctions against Cuba throughout the 1960s, including a full chronology of relevant events covering the period from January 1, 1959 through May 1970. Profusely illustrated throughout, primarily from photographs. Slight even toning throughout. Tabloid size newspaper, folded to 4to size. Original photo-illustrated self-wrpps., a few small tears along edge and center fold, minor toning. Havana, 1970. The introductory article of the newspaper reads: "The Cuban Revolution is one of the most internationally publicized events of this century...The conduct of the United States with regard to Cuba is all too well known. Yankee interventionism and arrogance in the relations of the Government of the United States with our country go back more than a century. Cuba, perhaps more than any other country, was a desired prey - easy until about 12 years ago - of imperialist economic interests...the United States took upon itself the "right" to smash our Revolution. And in the name of the "right," which emanates from the malodorous pit of its political and economic will, it devoted itself to isolating Cuba, to stifling the economic and military strengthening of the Revolution, to fomenting subversion and organizing the counter-revolution. The CIA was the undercover plotter and the U.S. State Department, the smiling diplomat. From that moment, Cuba was forced to ear, in full view of the entire world...the political and economic abuse and excesses at the hands of a fraudulent, criminal and contemptible power.
