Prague: self-published, 1932. Octavo (19.1 × 13.6 cm). Original photo-illustrated wrappers; 150, [2] pp. Signed and inscribed by the author. Very good. An enchanting photo-montage wrapper design, which captures Prague from its most bohemian side and combines various references to and photographs of the city's greatest pubs. Regarding this design, Jindřich Toman notes in his work on Czech Photomontage: "Photomontage represented an important tool with which to visualize modern entertainment, which was particularly attractive in its cosmopolitan form -- cabarets, music halls and jazz clubs" and suggests that the present work was "a well-meaning attempt to reinvent the glamour of the bygone era" (Toman, Photo/Montage in Print, p. 140). Toman 4.3.14. Rare; as of August 2020, KVK and OCLC only show the copy at SLUB Dresden.
