Internally, [1] ff title, [1] ff Preface, [1] ff, plate list, followed by 24 un-numbered lithographic plates, each with a leaf of descriptive text and a guard, [1] list of subscribers, 1 map (folding), some toning, short closed tear to lower margin of preface leaf, marginal browning along edges of plates not affecting images, small marginal damp-stain to plate 1, very small chip to foot of description leaf for plate 10, plate 24 & list of subscribers spotted, map with two partial splits to folds & small closed handling tear to inner extremity of central fold, traces of bookplate to front paste-down. Oblong 4to, 181*261mm. (Abbey Travel 499. Bobins 796) Rare. Abbey's copy had a printed overslip with the imprint of Dickinson & Co. to the title-page, on which grounds it is speculated that 'Dickinson's originally undertook to produce the book privately for Colonel Fullerton ... and that they then decided to publish it commercially. The presence of the list of subscribers does not necessarily destroy this theory, since Fullerton may have invited subscribers himself. The list contains 106 names'.
