The fascinating historical and autobiographical record left by a free black man, Amos Webber, of life in Philadelphia and Worcester, Mass., from 1826 to 1904. "Webber was active in the Underground Railroad, fought in the Civil War, was a leader in the African-American fraternal movement, and was a political activist who never stopped fighting for justice and equality." -- dust jacket. Book is in Near Fine Condition: year of publication written on front free endpaper and title page by former owner; otherwise, clean and bright. Dust jacket is in Very Good+ Condition: edges rubbed and creased; 1-cm. closed tear at tail of spine; clean and brigh.
