A pamphlet discussing regulation of work hours in factories of the Russian Empire, with the new law of June 2nd 1897 limiting the work day to 11 hours for men and 10 hours for women and children, as well as instituting a mandatory day off on Sundays. The publication acknowledges the positive impact of the law on the lives of the workers and discusses the role of workers' parties in ensuring implementation. The pamphlet was published by the Union of Russian Social Democrats (later Russian Social Democratic Labor Party; RSDRP) the party of Lenin, until the split between Mensheviks and Bolsheviks in 1903, with Lenin siding with the Bolsheviks.
