Francisco Bellini lived from 1643 and 1704, was an Italian physician and anatomist who did pioneering work in nephrology, as early as the age of 19 when a paper he published while a student at the University of Pisa ("Anatomical Exercise on the Structure and Function of the Kidney"), presented for the first time Bellini's findings that "the kidney consists of an immense number of tiny canals". Early copy of a classic work by a (then-retired) twentieth-century colonel in the United States Army Medical Corps who was also past Commandant and Professor of Military Surgery at the U.S. Army Medical School, as well as serving in a similar capacity at New York University.

Very minor rubbing to extremities. Interior pages very clean. One must "teach the bowel to move at a definite time..." "An authoritative study of bowel conditions and action written for the medical profession at the request of the Deshell Laboratories, Inc." (2). Habit Time encourages the view that patients must make bowel movements at the same time every day to avoid constipation, thus "habit time". The study discusses fecal consistency, medication, mode of life, physiology of the bowel, among other factors. Deshell Laboratories produced and sold Petrolagar, a medication used to induce bowel movements at regular intervals (See advert in The Modern Hospital, Jan 1926 for reference).
