California Petroleum Corp., Seattle, Washington, 1927; Original typed letter on 8 1/2" x 11" California Petroleum Corporation engraved stationery dated March 31, 1927 appointing A.A. Morrison treasurer at Seattle, Washington, effective the following day. Addressed directly to Morrison at headquarters on Garfield St., the letter is hand signed in ink by corporate president, C.W. Chandler and bears the CALPET color logo at top. On March 2, 1928, just less than a year after this memorandum was drawn, the California Petroleum Corporation was acquired by the Texas Corporation and reorganized as The Texas Company, California, which subsequently became Texaco. A unique piece of California and U.S. oil history. Fine condition. Clean, crisp, bright, no chips, no tears.
