The present publisher's acquired rights for re-publication. 381pp., This book has become a classic work as it has been referred to in many of those collecting gun and dealers as well. Nicely illustrated throughout in black and white, bound in beige cloth lettered in black, spine lettering black, in unclipped pictorial dust jacket lettered and decorated in brown, black and white, crease to upper corner, some chipping to head, light rubbing to edges. An exceptionally nice copy.

Brownsboro, Texas; nd: Art & Reference House. This list accompanied white Three Winchester Shell displays that came up at auction in 2010. This item is in a brown folder with a gold label on the front reading "A Collection of rare Winchesters" Art & Reference House, Brownsboro, Texas. It contains 58 copies of various Winchester blueprints mostly of lever actions and single shot rifles, 7 of which are marked experimental. We have counted and though the set at auction contained 57, this set does contain all 58. Besides collectors and gunsmiths on the rarest Winchesters, this set shows the planning and design of some of the most important rifles in American history. Housed within a brown folder with short tears to head and along bottom edge.

This work has been compiled to serve as a useful and authoritative reference on the blades of Nazi Germany and can be used by the beginner or seasoned collector. Bound in beige cloth lettered in red, slight bumping of a few corners, Volume one has a bit of finger soiling. A very good set in unclipped pictorial dust jackets, edge worn and chipped with a few closed tears.

Lincoln, Rhode Island, U.S.A.: Andrew Mowbray Pub, 1999. Printed Paper Boards. Near Fine. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. 110p. index. While the altred .45 caliber Army revolvers issued to Theodore Roosevelt's "Rought Riders" are rightly famous among firearms enthusiast, there is extensive research here done at the National Archives and the Colt factory with a wide selection of photographs, showing the revolvers in clear, large views. Previous owner's stamped name on front endpaper else a perfect copy.

London: Printed for the Trustees By William Clowes, 1962. Octavo. In two volumes. The Wallace Collection which was initially formed by Richard, fourth Marques of Hertford (1800-1870) was vastly increased by his son Sir Richard Wallace (1818-1890). While some are traced to much earlier family members, it was the later members who made this the great collection it is. The first volume presents the earliest French, German and English work including helmets, horse armor and a glossary. 1-239 pages, followed by 104 plates. Volume two 240-714 has pistols, staff weapons, swords, bolt belts, etc., followed by 103 plates. The total for both volumes is 208 photographs. Since many plates have five or six images, there are an estimated 1,100 images all told. Bound in full green faux leather, spines lettered in gilt, one corner on volume two bumped. A very nice, clean bright set.

Harrman, TN; (1966): Pioneer Press. Octavo. 128pp., inscribed by the author to Barry Goldwater, with Arizona Historical Foundation plate with gift of Goldwaters . This is the most complete and most practical guide to success as a collector of old guns. It offers the know-how and the do-how of successful collecting, It explains the history and the meaning of gun collecting and has a mine of valuable information. A near fine copy bound in maroon cloth lettered in gilt, spine plain, in unclipped dust jacket with a couple of chips along upper edge.

Thomas Nelson, 1974. Octavo. 156p. index. The best guide to the seven point system of firearms identification. Prepared for law enforcement, this guide also is useful to the collector or museum devoted to firearms. The hardcover is now scarce.

London: The Leadenhall Press, 1897. Thick Small Quarto. 2nd edition. Letter laid in from the author in a return answer to a question the author had written to a John Wilson about Ipswich School., dated Oct. 14, 1897. Andrew Tuer was a publisher and printer. This would be his most important work and still the best study of the subject. xvii, 486pp., (2) pp. Engraved frontispiece, vignette title page with hand-colored illustration, with tissue guard, marvelously illustrated throughout. At the end are 3 horn books laid into a cut-out with cover, the (2) advertisements are nearly detached because of the bulk of the horn book insert. Bound in light brown straight grained cloth over beveled boards, lettering in black within a black frame, lower corner stamped with a gilt crown, green leather spine label gilt, top edge gilt. A very nice copy.

The 1930s was a period of breakthrough in the field of forensic ballistics, or firearms identification. Ballistic expert Calvin Goddard's testimony brought attention to the relatively new field, several forensic ballistic books were published, and Gunther's is the classic. Bound in a blue-gray cloth centrally stamped in blind, spine lettering gilt, binding rubbed mostly around the edges. A very good copy.

Cologne, Germany; (1965): International Small Arms Publishers. First Edition. Quarto. In two volumes. 471, 483pp. Compendium of firearms, from single shot to fully automatic, with Model History and provenance, with over 400 photographic illustrations, exploded view, and full page plates showing weapons in the field. Index. Bound in pictorial black cloth decorated in gray, spine lettering gray, a handsome set in unclipped dust jacket rubbed and a bit of chipping to spine ends.

Washingon, DC: National Rifle Association, 1924. First Edition. Quarto. 124 pages of text, 126 pages of glossy Black and White images of the rifles as well as tools used in their production, early advertisements, etc. The extensive photographs of the variations of the Kentucky rifle are the reason this work has never been superseded. Laid in is a letter dated September 20, 1928 from the National Rifle Association to William C. Schwab of New York City with a desire to discuss together again the fine points of the Kentucky Rifle. Only 550 were bound of this first edition. Bound in blue cloth pictorially stamped and lettered in gilt, spine plain, light rubbing front cover, two bumped corners, spine evenly faded, scattered foxing to title page only. Typed letter laid in from the National Rifle Association of America. A very good copy. [Howes D-342].

Lausanne, 1972. Hardcover. Near Fine. Quarto. 254p. While often shooting matches are often seen in terms of the Olmpics, the Swiss have held such events for centuries and the first engraved are from the early 1600's. The metals were struck in various metals with size and metal noted here. The book also adds material never before published.

While the author knew the ins and outs of gun show collectors and dealers in the Southwest, the ins and outs of buying, selling and trading here also fit those who deal in any kind of collectible. Some of the articles originally appeared in the Arizona Arms Association newsletter. His poem "The Gun Show" will spring a smile to anyone who has lined up waiting for them to open or had the fortune (or misfortune) to be a dealer where a wide range of trades and sales often take place. Inscribed to his friends on inside cover.

Huntington, West Virginia; (1944): Standard Publications. First Edition. Large Octavo. 823 pages, index. hundreds of illustrations by the author. One of finest books on the subject. For the serious collector of gun books this was the first great illustrated edition that also covered even minor phases of firearms development. Besides providing a pedigree for modern firearms, he has provided a myriad of details neglected in more general works. The biographies of many famous early gun-makers through the early 20th Century make this book a pleasure to read as well as to use as an invaluable reference source. A near fine copy bound in blue cloth lettered and decorated in gilt, spine lettering gilt, in pictorial dust jacket with a few chips to spine ends, and corners.

After his Single Shot Rifles and More Single Shot Rifles, this work adds to his earlier works with additional information. He notes this is not a revision of his earlier books, but knowledge he has gleaned from collectors and museums since the publication of the earlier volumes. Bound in red cloth lettered in gilt, a very nice copy in pictorial gold dust jacket lettered and decorated in black, dust jacket rubbed and with a coupled of chips to corner and foot.

London and Pennsylvania; (1975): Arms and Armour Press/Stackpole Books. Octavo. 378pp., illustrated. This detailed history of the development of the automatic pistol is recognized as the standard study of the subject. There is an extensive chapter on ammunition, giving details of performances and velocities and the problems associated with the compatibility of various rounds with specific mechanisms. This edition is reprinted from the 1943 edition with new material and photographs. Bound in maroon paper covered boards, spine lettering gilt, a very good copy in somewhat edge worn and chipped pictorial dust jacket.
