London, 1855. Very good overall. Engraved trade advertising letterpress advertising the services of Thomas Beck, Wholesale Stationer, Engraver, Printer, Lithographer, Die Sinker and Manufacturer of Copying Machines, 81 Cheapside, Two Doors West of Old Jewry, London. A London newspaper advertisement for Thomas Beck Co. appeared in December 1846. With an engraved vignette of dock workers at an English/Australian? dock sealing crates marked "Gold" , "Tallow" and "Wool", with tall masted ships & a steamship visible in the distance; elaborate engraved borders. Printed on laid paper, blank at verso. 4 1/4 x 4 3/4". Slightly marked.

An unusual advertising card with a color illustration by Jessie Wilcox Smith of girls playing with dolls, a radiator in the background. Card, printed on 2 sides, 9 1/2 x 4 1/4", with a 1 cent stamp, postmarked 1910, addressed to a Cold Spring NY resident. "Winter's Dread is the bed-tine thought of rising, dressing, bathing and breakfast-ing in cold rooms. There's a way out. Ideal Boilers and American Radiators..." Black & white illustration on the verso by another artist. Text compares "How Best to Warm our Homes for hot air, steam & hot water.

Milwaukee, 1890. Very good condition. Included with packages of McLaughlin's coffee. With a color lithographed illustration of a young blond child with a pair of shears, embracing a little lamb; with vignette at lower left corner of kangaroos with joeys. With text printed at verso explaining that "the glazing on McLaughlins XXXX Coffee doe sthe settling and is made of Cornstarch and reclarified Sugar, therefore perfectly healthful". A little rubbed, closed tears upper left corner. 3 3/4 x 5"

Sydney, 1890. Very good overall. Australian Christmas card showing three tall masted ships in the harbor. A private residence is under construction in the foreground, with scaffolding visible around the chimney. Mounted on dark green stiff card akin to stereo cards, printed in the margins "Wishing You the Season's Compliments" and "The Land of the Golden Fleece". The "Balmain from Berrys Bay" title is handwritten with a fine gold ink. Text in gilt, gilt beveled edge. Photo 6 x 3 1/2" on card 6 1/2 x 4 1/4". Corners a bit rubbed, image quite bright. Not found on Trove.

The "Botanical Gardens Sydney" title is handwritten with a fine gold ink. Text in gilt, gilt beveled edge. Photo 6 x 3 1/2" on card 6 1/2 x 4 1/4". Corners a bit rubbed, image quite bright in the foreground, the ship a trifle less distinct. Not found on Trove.

Printed text includes 'To Peter Fabricus, Dr. [...] The Bar is Supplied with Choice Wines, liquors and Cigars. Boats Furnished. Terms Moderate'. Written in pencil on front and back are notes of scientific nature. One original center fold.

Melbourne, Australia, 1888. From the wool collection of W.G. Markham of Avon, N.Y., an important importer, exporter and breeder of sheep in the United States. The archive includes four auction catalogues from August & September 1883; Goldsbrough's Monthly Circular for February 20, 1878 (the folio size); 13 wool samples in pictorial envelopes from the Columbia Cream Separator Co, Avon, NY marked with the weight, age of ram/ewe and "M&P" or "Split Ear", etc.; some samples within an envelope the Government Technological Museum, Sydney. 1911. Paperback. Real b&w photo of ship "Discovery" and escorting ships with glitter highlighting the masts & image. Printed by Debenham, Cowes. Card reads "arctic", although at this time it was being used for Antarctic exploration. Also in glitter "To Eva from Gertie."

Azo, 1915. Very good. Arthur Finley" is noted in pen on the verso, along with "Discharged from Camp Sherman Dec. 16th 1918". Spanish Influenza swept through the camp in summer 1918. He is pictured in his uniform, warm coat, in front of wooden barracks, holding his rifle.

London, 1873. Very good condition. An archive of ten letterhead invoices and 7 franked envelopes from British booksellers to Mr. James H. Parker of Strand, London for books including 'Chaucer's Poems', a Bible, Miscellaneous Almanacks, 'Siege-life in Paris" by Michell and various newspapers dating 1869 through 1873. Booksellers include a woman, Olive Lasbury of Bristol, and a series of booksellers from London: Rivington & Co., Edward Stanford, Trubner & Co., James Truscott & Son, Dobbs, Kidd & Co., John Van Voorst, and W.H. Smith & Son. The invoices themselves have square one penny 'inland review' stamps on them, and the envelopes have one penny oval embossed stamps which are franked and have a bank note bar cancellation. Invoices measure approximately 7.5 x 5", and 8 x 5"; the envelopes vary from approximately 5 1/4 x 3 1/8" to 4 3/4 x 3 3/4"

Unusual trade catalog with several advertisements for shoes made from kangaroo, including a front cover ad for shoes made with Goodyear Welts, as well as a half page illustrated advertisement for "Genuine Kangaroo Shoes" priced at $2.50 by Lewis A. Crossett, and for sale in Boston at 59 Lincoln Street. Large 4to, pp 1905 - 1980. Red illustrated paper wrappers, two small chips at right edge front cover, marginal water stain along top right margins and a smaller one mid-binding side, a bit dusty.

A folding greeting card, the embossed gilt greeting on the front cover on highly textured dark green card stock; with a laid on color illustration of two seated gum-nut babies in bright green caps sipping with straws from the same cup. Stylized printed May Gibbs signature. Color, bright and fresh, very good condition. 4 1/4 x 3"

A folding Gum-nut babies greeting card with the gilt greeting on the front cover on textured card stock; with a color die-cut gum-blossom baby dressed in yellow fuzz clinging to a slender branch , framed by a gilt edged cut out window. Below is the stylized printed May Gibbs signature. Color, with one small area of fox spotting, o/w very good condition. 4 1/4 x 3"

Small off white envelope with US postage stamp for 3 cents, canceled, with "Little America, Antarctica, Jan. 30 1935" marked on the globe. Typed message on folded sheet inside reads "Greetings from Antarctica". Fine penguin illustrated 2nd cancellation rubber stamped on the verso of the envelope from San Francisco, showing two penguins distributing mail. Envelope slit open at the top; very good.

US postage stamp for 3 cents canceled "Little America, Antarctica, Jan. 30 1935". Typed message inside "Greetings from Antarctica". 2nd cancellation rubber stamped on the verso from San Francisco of penguins distributing mail.
