Description:
U.S. Department of Agriculture, 1927. Hardcover. A wonderful collection of 115 agriculture leaflets, handsomely bound into a single volume, published by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Ranging from March 1927 to February 1936, this collection runs the gamut from Hygiene in Fox Farming to Woodchuck Control in the Eastern States. A terrific glimpse into rural life just before and during the Great Depression, these leaflets were practical and instructional, born of the most basic needs in farming and homesteading. The single volume is a VG, thick octavo, bound in quarter black leather with navy blue cloth boards. With beautifully marbled endpapers and marbled edges. A powerful piece of Americana. and a reminder of the necessary thrift of the period.
