First Edition Limited to 550 copies, signed by Edward Weston, not numbered. Original binding with white spine (Edward Weston printed in gold, some minor abrasion to a few letters) and black boards. Binding has abrasions and light soiling with wear at corners and very slight fraying at top and bottom of spine. Hinges are solid. Interior, foxing at half title and page before rear free end paper. Pages are mostly very clean. Minor foxing at bottom of fore-edge. Book designed by Merle Armitage, printed by Lynton Kristler. Appreciation by Lincoln Steffens. Forward by Charles Sheeler. Literary contributions by Arthur Miller, Jean Charlot, Edward Weston, and Merle Armitage. One of the most important and influential photographic monographs. A scarce and highly desirable book.
