The company sold seeds, nursery stock, plants and bulbs, garden implements, gardening books, bee-keepers' supples, etc.

London: Baldwin and Cradock, 1827-8. Hardcover. Good +. Unpaginated. 22 cm. 12 colour plates, with four pictures per plate. Original boards with taped spine. Dampstains to exterior, worn corners. Title pages coming loose. Small ink mark on text block edge, a few spots and thumbing inside. Overall, however, very clean and illustrations are still bright and beautiful. Title continues: "Consisting of Highly Finished Representations of Hardy Ornamental Flowering Plants, Cultivated in Great Britain; With Their Names, Classes, Orders, History, Qualities, Culture, and Physiological Observations."

Wrapped in protective mylar, removed for photo. Corners bumped, spine ends have small tears. Ink stain on fore-edge. Front endpapers have library label, ink stamp, pencil inscription, some offsetting. Rear endpapers have offsetting. Dampstains and foxing. Pages darkened. "Being a compend of the history, modes of propagation, culture, &c., of fruit trees and shrubs, with descriptions of nearly all the varieties of fruits cultivated in this country: notes of their adaptation to localities and soils, and also a complete list of fruits worthy of cultivation." For each fruit, a listing of varieties "worthy general cultivation," "for amateur culture," and "unworthy of cultivation."
