Constance Garnett's translation of Tolstoy's classic novel (1878) first appeared in 1901. 4-1/2" x 6-5/8", green cloth over flexible boards, gilt ML logo on front and lettering on spine, backstrip greatly sunned, torn and separated from spine (reglued), back board detached and front board partially so, faded topstain, end papers decorated with ML logo pattern, slightly cocked, wear to corners, hinges cracked inside the end papers. "Fair" condition refers to the exterior; interior pages are good.
