A best seller in its day, It is now considered to be a classic of the mystery genre.This seemingly scarce edition was published by Rand, McNally & Company in Chicago (undated). It has dark blue boards with a floral art nouveau motif in paler blue on the cover and spine, with embossed cream flowers and titling. 288 pages. No jacket.In good condition generally, with some soiling, scuffing and bumping to cover. Front corners are bent. Good firm binding. There is a little yellowing to pages but they are otherwise clean.
