Description:
Boston: Little Brown, 1937. Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. First edition. Foredge a little foxed else fine in very good plus dustwrapper with a little rubbing and a couple of very minor nicks and tears. A novel of bloodlust and racial hatred in a Southern community, no biographical information about the author is provided. A curiosity - one of the other four novelettes chosen for publication in a contest in which *Remembering Laughter*, Wallace Stegner's first regularly published book, was the first prize winner. The dustjacket design is similar to Stegner's book. Unaccountably, aside from this copy, we have never seen any of the other prize winners.
