One of 4.000 copies printed.Lithographed edition. Little known about the author of the book Nadezhda Dostoinova. She was daughter of Iakov Dostoinov who finished Moscow Theological Academy and directed People's House of countess Panina in Saint Petersburg. After revolution N. Dostoinova lived in Vologda and worked in Vologda Public Library.We couldn't trace any copy in OCLC.

Description:
Extremely rare clandestine hectograph edition of Tolstoy's The Kreutzer Sonata.This is the first novella in Russian about the marriage and the relationships between sexes. After a long story of editing by the author initial text this eighth version (penultimate, finished in October 1889) has been rewritten by Tolstoy's daughter, Maria, and delivered to St. Petersburg. At the same time Tolstoy reminded renouncing the copyright to the novella so it was illegally copied in the Posrednik publishing house at one night, from October 29-th to 30-th 1889. 'Till Sunday 300 lithographed copies was ready... ' (Tolstoy. Polnoe sobranie sochineniy. T. 27. 1936). This text became a main for later hectograph editions, including our version that published nearly the other half of 1890. Two-color lithographed edition.The post-war edition of teaching children music literacy.Natalia Konchalovskaia (1903-1988) famous Soviet writer and translator, author of popular children's books. Her father was the artist Petr Konchalovskii, and the grandfather – prominent Russian artist Vasilii Surikov. Her sons - Andrei Konchalovsky and Nikita Mikhalkov are famous film directors. Innokentii Shaposhnikov (Proskuriakov, Kesha 1901- 1960) – Russian illustrator. He worked under pseudonym because he was born in a wealthy merchant family probably. Shaposhnikov was trying to avoid interest of the authorities. During WWII the artist created a number of children anti-fascist books published in provincial town Nalchik. The songs was taken from the book Piano ABC by professor Elena Gnesina (1874-1967). She was one of the founders of the famous music school in Moscow, The Gnessin State Musical College. OCLC locates two copies of early edition of 1946 only: one copy in Germany and one copy in USA.

First and only one edition. Livre d'artiste. Lithographed book. Aleksandr Vvedensky was one the founders the OBERIU group (Union of Real Art). This association considered be one of the most radical poetry groups. The members of the group were attacked in press, then arrested and expelled from Leningrad. Since that Vvedensky started work for children. Nevertheless Vvedensky was arrested and died in prison in 1941. Most of Vvedensky's poetry was not widely known during his life-time. The book was illustrated by Ol'ga Pchel'nikova. She studied at The Russian Academy of Arts. She worked as artist in film industry. Pchel'nikova died in Leningrad during WWII. First and only separate life-time edition of Russian all-time favourite playwright Alexander Ostrovsky (1823–1886). Rare lithographed edition (from the manuscript text) of a play Hard-earned Bread used in theatre rehearsals. The play was first performed at the Maly Theater on 28 November 1874. This edition was signed by censorship on 21 December. Very rare. We couldn't trace any copy via OCLC.
