Chicago: the museum, 1900. Pamphlet. Offprint, pp. 233-243 + appended plates a dozen or so (fullpage b&w), softbound in 9.5x6.5 inch plain printed grey wraps. Sewn textblock (thread & stab-holes visible at back cover). Spine panel is burst for one inch at top, with a chip at the tail, and cover bears a neat small ownership in pencil. Covers mildly edgeworn, a good serviceable copy. Field Columbian Museum, publication 51.

Calcutta: Modern Book Depot, 1961. Hardcover. Unpaginated preliminaries, 146p., v, illustrated from b&w photography (portraits, sites), and provides a huge folded line-drawn map bound in at terminus. Enclosed in the dust jacket; a hardbound item in 8.5x5.5 inch blank white boards with all titling on dj, this casing is sound but stained and mildly dust-soiled, while the dj has suffered small chips to head and tail of spine panel, and also a stain to rear panel. The big map, measuring 19x18 inches, is somewhat mis-folded and is a simple affair with next to no detail. The ffep is inscribed and signed by a lady datelining "Assam, India, Dec. 1963

Paperback. 121p., illustrated with numerous line maps and twelve b&w photos obviously taken by author Vinogradov, a female westerner accepted by this rather macho group. Softbound in 9x6 inch plain printed brown wraps. Faintest touch of edgewear to cover, this is a near-new copy: entirely sound, clean and unmarked. Anthropological papers no. 55.

Paris: Mouton & Co, 1958. Paperback. 144p., illustrated with a large fold-out map in b&w facsimile, two other facsimiles (old Arab texts) and a couple of original photographs. Text is exclusively in the French language. Softbound in 9.5x6.5 inch plain printed wraps, find a tiny snag at the head of the spine panel, a small scar near title, and faint general signs of handling. Reprint of the 1952 edition (resembles the 1952 Chapman and Grimes edition, but with the jacket flap copy re-typeset on the first leaf and the title page modified to remove the imprint information). Right-wing justification of reasonable racism and opposed to 'equalitarians.' A good portion is a dedicated rebuttal to Gunnar Myrdal and An American Dilemma. Campbell was also active in atheist circles.

Paper delivered at the Southwestern branch of the american Anthropological Association meetings, March 1967 and broadcast on KPFA radio, California.

Mexico City: El Colegio de la Frontera Norte, 2007. Paperback. 380p., text in Spanish one of 1,000 copies very good first edition trade paperback in pictorial wraps. With material on immigration to Mexico as well as to the US.

Columbus, OH: The Wartburg Press, 1957. Paperback. 272p., numerous b&w photos both contemporary and period, and folded map. Softbound in 7.5x5.5 inch decorated wraps. Rather shabby, with silverfishing and dustsoil to covers, front hinge weak, textblock edges tanned and dusty. But text is all there and quite handleable, and the only marking is an Australian seller's fiche. Reading copy. A word on the map: it is large (15x11.5 inches), slightly torn, and uniquely odd, showing a portion of NW New Guinea with the only detailing being crosses that indicate general locations of some thirty "missions", all Lutheran. Quite a saturation! FYI, the word "Anutu" is a northeastern name for God, now also indicating Christ.

Cambridge: The M.I.T. Press, 1965. Hardcover. x, 251p., second printing, hardbound in dark blue cloth boards gilt, a sound, clean unmarked copy lacking the jacket. Aside from a faint touch of age & handling, very good to near-fine.
