This charming little book is told in rhyme form, by one who lived in those days, and shared in the communal life.

Family snapshots and photographs of historical events illustrate the book. The author became interested in researching the history of Braidwood when she moved to the district in 1968. The introduction mentions Mary Braidwood Mowle, the daughter of Dr Thomas Braidwood Wilson of 'Braidwood Farm'. This well-researched book will interest anyone wanting to know about the history of Braidwood.

Paperback small square quarto, very good condition, black & white text-photos, minimal edgewear. 112 pp. Fernande Kuypers, of Belgium's Studio Leyssen, printed and mounted nearly 200 of the photographs that she took in Broome during a three week visit in 2001. These photos formed an exhibition, on the theme of Broome's festival of the pearl, Shinju Matsuri: Many People - One Community. She then donated the collection to the people of Broome in appreciation of their warmth and welcome. The Broome campus of the University of Notre Dame Australia accepted the gift, on behalf of the community, and is looking after and exhibiting the collection. (1 of 2 available copies.).
