Map contained in a yellow card wrap. Stamped signature of John Wood. Covers EMMAUS, HOPETOWN, JACOBSDAL, Modder R, Orange R, Vaal R. and the following Mines ( No Big Hole) Ottoskopje, Taylor's Dam, Kamfer's Dam, De Beers, Bultfontein, Du Toit's Pan, Premier and St Augustines. There is a red line running diagonally thru the map from S-W to N-E. Its significance is not labelled but it probably demarcates the boundary between the Cape Colony and the Orange Free State. All farm names are shown including Magersfontein which straddles the "boundary" as do many other farms (but not all)..

Imperial Scale 8 miles = 1 inch ( 1 : 586 880). In a folder. Easy to use and VERY Useful for those planning a tour of mainland Britain especially those wishing to stay off motorways. IDEAL for CYCLISTS & CARAVANERS. The images show front and rear of one sheet. Please ask for our charges to laminate 12 sheets in plastic.

Johannesburg, 2018. This is the first properly surveyed map of Johannesburg. Original signed by the surveyor, E J P Jorrissen, after whom the street in the CBD is named. The time is pre-Anglo-Boer War between 1895 and 1899. When professionally framed to suit a customer's colour requirements and to the customer's cost, the A0 will stand 1m high and 1.25m long. (see my stock no 01112). The map has several interesting features including that it was used in the 1950s to help in the lay-out of the double-decker section of the M1 N & S freeway. Only date shown is 1882. Map is pre Johannesburg, Rhodesia and Salisbury. Occasional foxing; small tears on a few of the fold lines. Folds into a wrap, which is torn and repaired on spine. Very RARE and FRAMEABLE. Shows Griqualand West an the C T railway as far as Kimberley.

The map sheets are somewhat worn but nothing serious; the booklets are in Fine condition.

Slight water crinkling on first 6 sheets. Distance Table and Map as endpapers; silk page marker. A hugely useful book. Please expect extra postage.

Southern Africa Tourist map, Cape to Congo, Tanzania, Zambia-Post 1964. A block mounted map with red velvet edging. Recovered from a caravan where it formed part of the table. A heavy mounting that is not suitable for overseas postage. Some cracking to the rear laminate.
