Description:
The personal inscription on the ffep states, "Bob from The Tarrytowner's February, 1950." (By the early 1900's there were more than 65 mansions in Tarrytown, NY earning it the title Millionaire's Colony. Tarrytown historian William C. Gross said it was considered the wealthiest town of its size anywhere in the world.) I believe this is what the inscription refers to. This book has been accused by detractors as Communist propaganda and a seditious call to overthrow organized states. Between 1965 - 1987 Animal Farm was at least challenged in WI, NY, GA and banned in FL unti parents sued and 65 books were reinstated. It was suppressed in Russia from the Moscow International Book Fair in 1977. The above were for political reasons. In 2002 it was banned in schools in the United Arab Emirates for religious reasons. The green boards have some stain spots and some wear to the green. The end caps and top edge of the book is bumped. The corners are very slightly rubbed.…

Description:
First Edition with First Printing Line. Boards are faded along the top edge and have some small bump indents along the bottom edge. A scrape at one spot along the foredge. Somewhat tight binding. Dust jacket is very faded at the spine with some small tears at spine ends and front corners. There are movement marks and a Krochs & Brentano's price sticker on the backside. The first edition hardcover is starting to become scarce. The founder of Gestalt Therapy dealt with the here and now rather than what happened to you in childhood. This is Fritz Perl's biography. He died in 1970.

Description:
Research shows that the first edition is 1871. This date appears at the bottom of the title page and on the copyright. Rare first edition with a tissue frontispiece of the author opposite the title page beginning with Chapter 1, "Read the Best Books". The boards have some stains and scratches with a partial glass ring. They are very worn at the corners and edges with some tears to the cloth at the edges of the spine. The hinges appear intact. The back is shown first. Signature of gift giver on ffep. Book is complete. Some pencil lines in the margins and several lines underlined in two places. Paper is thin so I didn't try to erase them. Some speckling to foredge. I suspected the top may have been dyed at some time. Book appears to be self published since the printer is listed on the title page. Several page corners creased ad the bottom and some stains and smudges. Spine is cocked. The paper apparently was stuck opposite the copyright page and was pulled apart.
