London: Printed for the Translators, for Private Subscribers only, 1894. 1 of an edition of 1,000 copies on fine hand-made paper. Frontispiece, title in red & black. 8vo (9 1/2 x 6 inches), 313-pages. Original quarter parchment, uncut. Binding soiled, spine slightly canted, corners rubbed through, crush damage to 1 1/2 inches of fore-edge of upper cover. The binding poor but internally very clean - an ideal candidate for rebinding and priced to allow for such.

Clarendon Press, Oxford, 1970. First edition. 8vo (9 1/2 X 6 1/2 inches), 191-pages. Original dark blue cloth. Excellent in dust jacket, pale brown mark to backstrip of which, now protected by a removable plastic transparent sleeve. Relevant inscription on front free endpaper.

Lipsiae [Leipzig] : Sumt. Hered. Weidmann. et Reichii, 1769. Engraved frontispiece. 8vo (8 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches), 288-pages plus unpaginated index and addenda, contemporary full tan sheep, spine floral gilt in compartments with burgundy lettering piece; rubbed, some browning to prelims. Very sound. Engraved armorial bookplate of Sir Robert Phillimore, Q.C. H.M. Advocate General on front pastedown.

London: for J. Johnson, 1797. First edition. Engraved portrait. 8vo, pp. xii: (1, errata):120, contemporary full tan calf with lettering piece; rubbed, title toned. The original printed price at base of title page crossed out in ink at an early date. Anonymous.

Paris : Apud Egidium & Nicolaum Gillios, Typis mandabat Ioannes Charron, 1588. Woodcut title devices. Two parts in 1 volume (2nd part, with separate title and pagination, , being "Sex Iulii. Frontini de. Colonis. Lib Legis....."). 8vo (7 1/2 X 5 Inches), pages: 305:(23, index): 74:(13,index):(1,errata). Contemporary full vellum; binding dust marked and darkened, corners bumped, but sound. Titled in ink in an early hand to spine. Some foxing and browning within, endpapers dust marked but overall good. Being parts 3 and 5 of the five parts issued by Gilles simultaneously and sold either separately or as a collection. What appears to be a brown stain on the left hand margin of the title in the photograph is actually just a shadow.

Paris: F. Didot, 1815. 12mo (5 1/4 x 3 3/8 inches), 288-pages. A pretty little binding of contemporary full grained crimson calf, ornamental gilt border to sides, spine gilt, all edges gilt. Tiny contemporary inscription on front free endpaper. Upper cover gilt blocked "Ob Meritum", corners rubbed, spine gilt a little dulled else excellent.

Leipzig: Tauchnitz, 1820. Three volumes in two. 12mo ( (5 1/4 x 3 1/2 inches), pages: 339:376 & 372.. Contemporary half vellum, marbled boards, spines gilt ruled and with crimson lettering piece. Very good. The 2nd volume incorrectly lettered "3. 4.". Greek text.

Chez Barbou, Paris 1766. 8vo (6 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches), pages: 384:(4). Contemporary full tan calf, spine gilt in compartments within raised bands, burgundy lettering piece. Very good.

London: Richard Priestly, 1834. 8vo, pp. 116:74, contemporary half calf with double maroon lettering pieces, marbled boads. The text with pencil annotations. Armorial bookplate. Strip cut from head of front free endpaper.

By R. Reily, for T. Osborne in Gray's Inn, 1749. Folding portrait of Virgil as frontispiece, folding plate and 2 engraved maps, 1 folding. 8vo (8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches), pages: xcix:390:7:(11, index). Recent full tan calf, sides ruled in gilt, spine gilt in compartments with black lettering piece. Old initials on title. Overall very good.

Bell & Daldy, London, 1869. Vignette illustrations throughout. Large 8vo (8 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches), 456-pages. Contemporary full tan prize calf, sides with gilt border, that to the upper cover enclosing the gilt arms of the Forest School. Spine floral gilt in compartments and gilt lettered direct; some uneven fading to upper cover but overall very good and firmly bound, all edges marbled. Prize label on verso of front free endpaper.

Richard Taylor, London, 1813. 4to (12 1/2 x 9 3/4 inches), 295-pages. Contemporary full tan calf gilt; rubbed & scuffed, both boards detached. Inscription in Latin on verso of front free endpaper. Internally very clean & therefore worthy of restoration. Uncommon, only two cited by Copac. Weight 1.640 kg thus extra overseas postage will be requested.
