Very mior rubbing to extremities; the binding by Corner, Wellington, with their ticket. Foxing to prelims. Free from inscriptions. Very good.

Volume one inscribed on front fly with a contemporary inscription " This is a book, says Dr. Johnson, from which he who knows nothing may learn a great deal........D.F". Binding broken & chipped, damp mark to title, inner joints split, else internally good.Although this curious collection of treatises, chiefly on gynaecology and obstetrics, went through several editions, it is not often found. Some editions were confiscated because of the frank discussion of virginity and its method of loss.

Front free endpaper inscribed "To Stanley Rivlin, Hunterian Gold Medalist, a small gift from Dr. and Mrs Irwin Moore in ever grateful thanks for much kind medical service". *Stanley Rivlin, a pioneer in the field of varicose vein surgery.
