Founded in 1880 by Unitarian minister Charles Wesley Emerson as the Boston Conservatory of Elocution, Oratory, and Dramatic Art, Emerson College is a private liberal arts college with its main campus in Boston Massachusetts. It became known as Emerson College in 1939. Provenance: This volume is customized on the front cover with the name of Jacqueline Liebergott. Liebergott was the first (and so far the only) female president of Emerson College, elected in 1993. She retired in 2011. You'll find her photograph on page 174. South braintree, Massachusetts: Thayer Academy, 1935. The 1935 Black and Orange Yearbook from Thayer Academy in South Braintree, Massachusetts. Voume Fourteen (14.) Cloth bound black hardcover with orange titles on the cover. There is little wear to cover and little tanning to pages. We noted a couple of very small spots on end papers. Front end page has owner's name written in ink and pencilled price. This book does contain some autographs and inscriptions. We also noted that the bottom corner of page 25/26 has had the last photograph cut out of page 25. A black and white photocopy (this is of the yearbook's former owner) replaced the photograph on page 26, but this has left one photograph from page 25 missing. 101 pages including a section of vintage advertisements. Folio sized stapled magazine binding. Unpaginated, about 40 pages. This volume is a combination of articles, black and white photographs and many advertisements. Selling space in this issue would have been a fundraiser for the group. A gaggle of Bubbe's would have been on the telephone calling the local businesses and selling the ads. The ads generally have a business name or a message from someone, i.e. "Compliments of Mr. and Mrs. David Moskow." There are also vintage product and company advertisements.
