New York: Limited Editions Club, 1961. Hardcover. Essentially New in torn glassine, lacking the folio facsimile volume and the slipcase. One of two volumes in octavo (5" x 7-1/4") bound in half buckram with highly distinctive hand-marbled paper sides by Putois Freres of Paris. The smaller of the two volumes, printed in red and black, consists of the original Latin odes with English translations on facing pages selected and edited by Louis Untermeyer with no less than 45 translators represented. The larger volume (not present here) consists of facsimile pages, in the same size as the originals, of 39 pages from 23 various volumes of Horace dating from 1482 to 1910. Issued unsigned. Of a total edition of 1500 copies, this copy, not numbered, is an apparent overrun and was still in the original 1961 publisher's container.
