The village of Bluntisham-cum-Earith, in Huntingdonshire, is situated on the left bank of the river Ouse, on the borders of the Cambridgeshire Fens. Pp.viii/311, portait frontispiece, light spotting throughout, gift message to front free endpaper indicates the book was given to the owner by the author's son, cracking to inner front hinge but holding. Dark green cloth, gilt title to spine, wear to top and tail of spine and bumps to corner tips. Good.

She won the Carnegie Medal for British children's books in 1946 for The Little White Horse. She was a best-selling author in both the UK and the US from the 1930s through the 1970s.(wiki).
