Uncommon editon of this novel that has marvelous silver foil Art Deco design dustjacket along with the same design reproduced in silver foil for the front and back endsheets. The dustjacket has minor wear some chipping to the spine panel but is in vg conditon. The book is also vg+ condition. The novel was made into a play and then later into a movie that starred Clive Brook, Francis and Miriam Hopkins.

Chapters on all the areas incld. fashion, furniture & design. 275 b&w illustrations. 16 color photos. The silver foil dj. has some minor chipping and wear to the top edge, and a piece missing about 2" from the top of the spine to the left of the top of the dustjacket has been nicely mended using archival foli paper. Light creases to the flaps, the insides of the book are near fine. Near fine/vg.

Includes general activities on all the areas covered in the book along with many nice b&w photos & line drawings + 15 beautiful full color deco like illustrations. Former owner's rubber stamp on the white margins of 6 pages, and there is a small approx. 1 inch sq. cut from the bottom margin of the title page. Nice black and orange designed covers. Material of this kind is quite uncommon. Vg.

The Netherlands: De Bijenkorf Department Stores, 1934. 1st Edition . Cloth w/o Dj. As Issued. TEXT IN DUTCH. A bound volume of 12 issues of Bij En Korf for 1934. The magazines were published by the famous chain of Dutch department stores to promote their stores and are filled with cozy tibits on shopping, travel, fashion, products along with crossword puzzles, and notes about the stores managers and salespeople. Each issue is illustrated with small charming in text drawings, illustrations and photographs along with wonderful Art Deco like covers. Each issue is approx. 50pgs and all the issues and the cloth binding are in fine condition. A marvelous look at European commerce right before the storm.

Very rare book that is a poem by the important French filmmaker Jean Epstein on cinema with amazing illustrations using text, photographs and drawings in a strong Art Deco style by Claude Dalbanne and designed as a movie. Includes the original paper wrap around band that is laid in the book. As fine a copy one could hope for.

Lacking the Dj.. 24 good looking art deco like illustrations that face pages of text which herald the modern age and the greatness of America with short pieces on the greatness of f Electricity, Advertising, Skyscrapers, Radio, The Department Store, Commercialism, Air Conquest, Science, Modern Art, and one disturbing page on Jews which smacks of Anti-Semitism "Even the sacred edifices of banking and sacrosanct mysteries of wall street have been penetrated with a joyous zest he invades the dwelling places of the elect" Lacking the rare dustjacket. The Blue illustrated boards are in very nice condition with a touch of wear to the tip on the bottom cover, and rubbing to the spine. Also the usual tonning to the paper, but the book itself is nice, clean (in terms of the images). Near fine.

Czech.: Czech, 1930. Paper. These are 10 very nice 11" x 14" b&w stills from unknown Czech. films from the 1930's. Although these are unknown, they make marvelous photographs, that are both campy and mysterious. Full of Art Deco accents in decor & clothes, there are also several portraits & 1 still that is definately sappho in nature. Printed on heavy stock paper. Sold as a collection only. Vg+.

The highlight is the nice two color abstract Art Deco dustjacket which has a tiny bit of chipping around points and darkening to the spine panel, otherwise a tight clean copy.

A rare opportunity to own five copies of the superb Graphic Design Between The Wars series of books that were published from 1993 to the late 90's. The books are all in brilliant full color iwth 100's of art deco examples of graphic design including ads, product designs, posters and more. Each book covers a country which in this series of 5 includes Italy, Japan, France, Spain & Britain. Several of the books have bookmarks from the publisher laid in that highlight the series. All are first printings with the exception of the Italian Art Deco book which is a 2nd printing. All five copies are in superb unread fine condition and are being sold as a collection only.
