Hollywood: Paramount, 1951. Lobby Card . Lobby Card. This is an original 11" x 14" color tinted lobby card from the second release of the film when the title was changed from "Ace In The Hole" to "The Big Carnival" to try to make more people come to see it. It didn't work. The card is not marked as a reissue or release lobby card and it is the #1 card dated 1951. The card shows Kirk Douglas and Bob Arthur in the cave. The film recently got the Criterion treatment with its original title. Light wear to the edges and a tiny mend to the bottom edge otherwise vg+ Uncommon.

Vonnegut's novel in the form of a memoir about an artist Rabo Karabekian who first appeared in "Breakfast Of Champions." A superb copy with a faint hardly noticeable crimp to the bottom edge of the spine panel of the dustjacket. Fine/fine. Laid in is a color brochure for the Kurt Vonnegut Memorial Library.

New York, New York, U.S.A.: Doubleday, 1988. New Edition . Cloth with Dustjacket. INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY HERMAN WOUK. Play about a navy court martial that Wouk based on his own novel that won a Pulitzer Prize. The play was a modest hit and ran for 415 performances in 1954. The cast was good Henry Fonda, Lloyd Nolan (as Queeg) and John Hodiak with direction by Charles Laughton. But it is the film version that remains in our memories mainly because of Humphrey Bogart's legendary performance as Queeg. This was really his swan song and the last of his Oscar nominations. The film received 7 Oscar noms. including one for best picture. The book is in fine condition except for a shadow of a small price stain on the front pastedown. This is the new edition of the play and should not be confused with the first 1954 edition which seems that a lot of dealers are doing. There were no isbns' back in 1954. Laid in the book is a playbill for the 1983 Broadway production that starred Michael Moriarty.

Includes interview, English translation of scenes in spoken Chinese, 4 stills & bibliography of reviews. Very minute small glue stain on the verso of the front cover where a bookplate might have been and a teeny top corner crease to a few of the first pgs. Only the second copy I've ever offered for sale. Near fine.

Very moving work. Includes 10 envelopes along with the notecards a a small vellium sheet that has bio. info on Vishniac.Set in a small portfolio like folder. Fine.

BOOKLET FOR HIS FILM VIDEODROME ISSUED FOR THE CRITERION RELEASE OF THE FILM.

Printed on heavy stock paper the book includes bios.publicity material and is illustrated with 53 b&w photos by Arne Carlson. LAID IN THE BOOK IS A NICE SCENE STILL OF LIV ULLMAN THAT HAS BEEN SIGNED BY HER IN BLUE INK. The silver foil covers have minute wear and the front cover has a split at the top, otherwise near fine copy. Uncommon.

Beautiful coffee table book that covers all of the Merchant Ivory films through 1996's "Surviving Picasso". The extensive text is complimented by 268 photos including 101 in color. Laid in is a 8pg. foldover brochure for the DVD release of "The Bostonians" and a brochure for a retrospective of his films that was held at the French Institute in New York City in 2008 + a nice postcard for Howard's End. Also laid in are two nice small booklets for "Shakespeare Wallah" and "Heat And Dust.

Antwerp: De Beukelaer, 1927. First Edition . Oblong Paper. A wonderful three volume set of small 1" x 2" movie star cards that were given out with packages of Chocolate. Although not dated I would place the cards from the mid to late 1920's. In all there are 299 cards with one card (Bessie Love) missing. The cards are of all the major Hollywood stars along with German and Belgium? stars. The albums themselves measure 11 1/2" x 7 3/4" and each one is bound with cords. The pages have nice top and bottom borders of yellow and green with the words "Chocolade Filmstar De Beukelaer" on the top and bottom of the pages. All three albums are in fine condition.
