The story appears in print on the left-hand page, with the corresponding text in Wells' handwriting and color illustrations on the right-hand pages. The book was written by Wells for a child of a friend who was ill - "Tommy" saves the life of a rich man and is rewarded with an elephant. The book is larger in size - it measures 11 3/4" tall x 9 1/8" wide.Condition:
There are a few small, light stains on the front cover; light soiling to the front cover illustrations; tiny cloth tears at the cover corner tips, and at the top-left corner of the spine. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Light foxing to the end papers, and to the first couple and last couple pages. There appears to be two characters written in pencil within the text on the 2nd illustrated page after the title page. Overall the book is in Good+ condition.
