"THE CANONS OF COLORADO" from Photographs by W.H. Jackson. Circa 1890's (there is no date of publication stated); Frank S. Thayer; Denver. The book is a collection of 16 black & white photographic images in accordion-style. The plates measure 7 3/4" tall x 5 1/4" wide. W.H. Jackson was an American photographer, Civil War veteran, painter, and explorer famous for his images of the American West.Condition:Clean front cover; there are a couple of tiny stain spots on the back cover. Tiny cloth tears at the top and bottom edges of the spine. Nice interior - there is some light soiling to the title page, and a few of the images have a small, light stain at the top margin (the image itself is unaffected). The second-to-last and third-to-last have nearly separated along the outer edge, but are still attached by 1" at the top. There is an inscription written in pen dated 1913 on the back of the front flap. Overall the book is in Very Good- condition.

This is an early copy of "The Different Forms of Flowers on Plants of the Same Species" by CHARLES DARWIN. 1892 fourth thousand (stated); John Murray; London. There are several illustrations and tables, and an Index at the back. The chapters are as follows: Heterostyled Dimorphic Plants - Primulaceae; Hybrid Primulas; Heterostyled Trimorphic Plants; Illegitimate Offspring of Heterostyled Plants; Concluding Remarks on Heterostyled Plants; Polygamous, Dioecious, and Gyno-Dioecious Plants; Cleistogamic Flowers.Condition:Clean covers and spine; bright gilt lettering and decorations on the spine; sharp corners. There is an insignificant crack at the front hinge between the end paper and title page (despite the crack, the front cover is still firmly attached and is not shaky). Nice interior with only some light foxing to a few pages at the front, and an occasional light smudge to a few random pages. There is an old name written lightly in pencil on the title page. Overall the book is in Very Good condition.

This is an antique beekeeping book, "Fifty Years Among the Bees" by C.C. Miller. 1911 1st edition; The A.I. Root Company; Medina, Ohio. There are black & white photographs throughout. Decorative floral end papers. This enlarged edition ("about one eighth being new matter") follows the 1886 publication of "A Year Among the Bees," and the 1902 publication of "Forty Years Among the Bees" by Miller. There is a biographical sketch of the author at the front, and an Index and list of Illustrations at the back. There are five advertising pages at the back for books on beekeeping.
Condition:There are a few small stains on the covers. Bright gilt lettering on the spine. Tight binding with no loose pages. There is a crack at the rear hinge between two end papers resulting in the back cover being a bit shaky. Foxing to the front and rear end papers.
