The first half of the text details the equipment and raw materials for the distillation process, while the second contains one hundred and thirty-seven different receipts for making various strong drinks and liqueurs using fruits, herbs, and other flavourings. Included is the family of cordials flavoured with almonds or the pits from peach, apricot, and cherry, known as ratafia, which suggests that the authors name is probably a pseudonym. The folding engraved plate is of distillation equipment. Not found in NUC..
