Side one introduces the booklet and offers a tinted (colored) representation of page 13 - to guide the child. the reverse offers 12 "Questions for Mothers and Fathers" all related to promoting good health, such as #1 Does your child get proper rest? (with explanation) and #12 "Have you had your child immunized. against diphtheria and vaccinated for smallpox." In 1928 refrigerators were a novelty unrealized potential to the Modern Homemaker of the day. Alice Bradley was the Principle of Miss (Fannie) Farmer's School of Cookery in Boston MA. Included within are general directions for food arrangement, tips for freezing, directions for cleaning ("treat the cabinet as you would any good piece of furniture"), and so much more. Two spellings given) who married Edwin Rutherford Pease (Ed). Lettie and Ed lived in norther CA around the Stockton / Lodi area, they had two sons, Donald who died at 6 mo. and Roy. Very good only due to the damage to the lower right corner which extends into the booklet 2 leaves, with decreasing severity. LAID IN is the, original and uncommon, form letter sent along with this booklet by Hills Brothers on behalf of the local grocer, in this case Alta Market of Denver Colorado. It's purpose was to introduce a new food, Dromedary Dates to the American people. The letter has incomplete crease to the lower corner corresponding to the booklet corner damage. "The Hills Brothers Company, fruit importers, altered the date market with their massive marketing campaign. Prior to their advertisements many Americans viewed dates as a sticky, bug infested mess. Hill Brothers unveiled advertisements that suggested the romance of the Middle East could be eaten in a date.
