There is no publication date on the front or back of the title page. The book was originally published by London's Kegan Paul in 1879 as a three volume set; this book contains all 50 chapters. This Lovell publication includes a list 200 "Oxford" editions in advertisement section which includes Children of the Abbey which was published by Lovell in 1880. Since The Egoist has many re-published many times in the 20th century, the value of this book is probably decorative. New York: Hearst's International Library, 1815. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good +. Gayle Hoskins. The book pictured is the book being sold. The cover shows normal rubbing are the ends. The cover is navy blue with the title and author's name are in bright white; the scales of justice embossed on the front cover. The endpages are foxed and the paper shows light browning. Other than a missing nameplate on in the inside cover and a few markings on the first endpage, the book is clean. This is an attractive and usable small book. 53 pages.
