There is slight tanning to edges of boards, and light bumping to spine ends and extremities. The pages are uncut, clean and bright. Includes 13 full page pochoir plates, 6 in-text and illustrated map endpapers of Kew Gardens and Kew Green. Robert Herring was a poet who edited 'The London Mercury' and 'Life and Letters Today'. Edward Bawden was an illustrator of books and posters, who became the official war artist of WWII. This is a vibrant and uncommon book. [unpaginated] Hand illustrated manuscript in a sketchbook of a children's story detailing the exploits of one 'Lottie The Hen' The illustrations are very proficient and have been executed in pen pencil and watercolours. The work is unfinished, the text continues to a conclusion , but the illustrations do not. Contents loose in binding, but complete.
