Pocket-sized folding cased map, on linen, 9 sections unfolded, printing in the same year of the battle - it was advertised in the Morning Post of April 8th, 1849. Very good condition. The case is about 3 3/4 inches wide and 5 inches high. The map unfolds to about 10 1/2 inches wide and almost 14 inches high.

Description:
As originally published in parts, the first 40 of the 41 published parts are present. Yellow wrappers, imperial 8vo; inches wide by 11 1/4 inches high. Each issue contains two steel engravings. Issue 1 has an engraved fronts, and engraving, and a fold out map of india with some coloring in the outlines. Condition is variable; a few covers are missing or detached or clipped. Issues ns. 22 and 23 have been torn part way though, effecting all pages of text and the engravings (see photos). Issue 36 the front cover is detached and tattered. For issue 37 the front and rear covers are lacking and the first engraving is torn through. For issues 38, 39 and 40 the front cover has been fully or partially removed (again, see photos). This was also published in two volumes. The original part was 25 cents per part.
