Description:
London: Hurst & Blackett, LTD Hard Cover. 7 1/8 x 4 5/8. 284 pp. Subtitled; a romantic novel. In the author's notes he states that although his characters are not based on real people, ".just such people are to be found in the So uth Seas." At the conclusion of the book there is a brief glassary and a recipe entitled "Numerous Treasure Cocktail" made with Pernod, Orange Bitters, Gin and Vermouth. The novel is not dated but ha s the "feel" of pre WWII England. Conversation is glib, witty -the characters are "blith spirits", all. Binding is beige cloth (nubby) with green lettering and decorative elements. Binding is slight d ust soiled but otherwise good. Endpapers are white with just a trace of foxing. Text has yellowed slightly. An interesting book. Made into a film, James Mason would have been perfect in the lead role. Worth having just for the cocktail recipe. Overall cond: good.. Hard Cover. Good.
